1956 DODGE CORONET HEMI D500-1 CONVERTIBLE.

PROJECT: TEST AND TUNE HEMI ENGINE. REBUILD POWERFLIGHT 2 SPEED TRANSMISSION. GO THROUGH MECHANICALS. RE-PAINT HOOD. INSTALL SEAT BELTS. INSTALL NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP. TEST DRIVABLITY.

Special order one color paint of black. Power steering and power brakes. Engine serial number is D-500-7230 and located on block behind water pump. Original running gear. Powerflite automatic, 315cid HEMI engine with factory two 4-barrel carburetors that put out 285hp. 12″ Chrysler brakes and race suspension, dual exhaust, all D-500-1 options are on this car. Very low production D-500-1 cars were built in 1956. 100 were required for NASCAR entry. This car was shipped to Volusia Motors in Daytona Beach, Florida to be prepped for racing. The car was stolen from Florida and recovered in Colorado in 1989. It was returned to storage in Daytona beach in 1993.
